The SOL Puzzle
The SOL Puzzle wasn't designed by starting with the finished object. It emerged from a question.
I became fascinated with the geometry of the 60 degree curve and wanted to understand what it naturally revealed when explored in three dimensions. Rather than treating the curve as a decorative shape, I began exploring what would happen if three of them worked together as a single unit.
The next question was simple.
If these three curves followed the points of a Merkaba, where would they naturally intersect?
The answer surprised me.
As the geometry developed, it became clear that I wasn't really working with the Merkaba itself. I was working with the octahedron hidden inside it. Since a Merkaba is a stellated octahedron, everything suddenly fell into place. The geometry wasn't being forced into a shape. It was simply revealing the structure that had been there all along.
When I finally modeled the design in CAD, I reached a point where everything seemed like it should fit together, but it didn't. The missing element turned out to be polarity. By introducing an inverted relationship between alternating sets of curves within the octahedron, the entire structure suddenly aligned. Rather than being something added to the design, polarity revealed itself as an essential part of it.
From that moment, the design evolved naturally. Every new piece came from asking the same question over and over.
If this relationship is true, what does it lead to next?
The answers eventually revealed an expression of a three dimensional Seed of Life.
As the exploration continued, those same relationships naturally expanded into a three dimensional Flower of Life. Nothing new was added. The geometry simply continued revealing more of itself. Just as the Flower of Life has no true boundary, the underlying relationships appear capable of continuing indefinitely, with each discovery becoming the foundation for the next.
The result eventually became what I now call the SOL Puzzle, an original exploration of three dimensional sacred geometry that becomes a Flower of Life sculpture with the opportunity to experience it by building it yourself.
Every meaningful discovery within the SOL Puzzle began with a simple question. I have no doubt there are still questions waiting to be asked. If this geometry continues to reveal itself, I look forward to seeing what others discover.
